Before you arrive: From your flight to the garden.
How your booking is confirmed, what happens if plans change, and the best way here from each airport — straight from your hosts.
How your booking works
- We confirm your dates. Send your request and we reply on WhatsApp to confirm the nest is free. Nothing to pay until then.
- A 30% deposit confirms it. Send 30% of the total by Western Union and your booking is confirmed; the rest is paid when you arrive, preferably in cash. Western Union's fees, both ways, are split half and half between you and us.
- If plans change. Changing your dates, or cancelling more than 30 days before check-in, costs nothing — your deposit comes back. Less than 30 days before, we keep half the deposit and refund the other half by Western Union. If you don't arrive at all, the deposit is kept.
For example, on a $500 stay you send $150 to book and pay $350 when you arrive. Cancel less than 30 days before check-in and we keep $75 and refund $75. On top of the stay: a $25 cleaning fee, and a $100 security deposit paid on arrival and returned at check-out.
Getting here
- Punta Cana Airport (PUJ): A taxi, the ferry across Samaná Bay and a guagua — or about 6 hours by road
- Landing before 1 pm: A taxi to Sabana de la Mar (about 3 hours, around 150 USD a car), the ferry to Santa Bárbara de Samaná (about an hour, 8 USD; the last one leaves at 5 pm), then the guagua to Las Galeras (about an hour, 3 USD a person).
- Landing after 1 pm: Spend the night in Punta Cana or Sabana de la Mar and carry on the next morning.
- Any time: A taxi or a rental car all the way to Las Galeras: about 6 hours, and fairly costly.
- Santo Domingo Las Américas Airport (SDQ): The bus to Samaná (4–5 hours), then a guagua
- Landing before 3 pm: Take the bus (ASOTRAPUSA or Caribe Tours) from the Las Américas bus station to Santa Bárbara de Samaná the same day — 4 to 5 hours — then the guagua to Las Galeras (about an hour, 3 USD a person). If the bus gets you to Samaná after 6 pm, when the last guagua has left, take a taxi from Samaná — we can recommend one.
- Landing after 3 pm: Stay the night at a hotel in Boca Chica, 10 minutes from the airport, and travel the next morning.
- Or: Go into Santo Domingo, 45 minutes from the airport, and take the bus the next morning — it adds about an hour to the second day.
- Samaná El Catey International Airport (AZS): The closest airport: 90 minutes by taxi
- Any time: By taxi only — about 90 minutes to Las Galeras.
- Puerto Plata Airport (POP): About 5 hours by taxi
- Any time: By taxi — about 5 hours to Las Galeras.
The last guagua from Samaná to Las Galeras leaves at 6 pm. There's no airport pickup, but we can recommend a taxi — just ask us on WhatsApp.
Prices and times are a guide — check them a few days before you travel.
